Morgan Engel

Engineer. Dad. Reluctant writer.

I've spent 25 years building things for the web, 13 years raising kids, and 45 years trying to make sense of everything in between. I'm not here because I love writing. I'm here because I keep looking for things on the internet that nobody has bothered to say yet.

What you'll find here

Engineering. Not just the how, but the why. What it means to build products that matter, lead teams through complexity, and stay curious after two decades of doing this. But also: travel stories from Costa Rica to Ireland. Recipes that actually work. The real experience of parenting kids with ADHD and autism. Life hacks from someone who has tried most of them.

What I bring to the table

I've worked across startups and public companies, most recently leading engineering teams at Gusto. But the thing I'm actually good at is cutting through noise. Taking disparate ideas, connecting them, and making the complicated feel obvious. I can listen and I can talk, which apparently puts me in a minority on the internet.

Right now

I'm exploring the edges of AI, figuring out fatherhood in real time, and trying to navigate the space between the two.
